Stymielock was created by a guy just like you.

Stymielock is a small company with a evolutionary solution to a big problem. Like most inventions, the idea arose from a recognized need—a very frustrating and pervasive recognized need.

In his 30 years in the construction business, David Eaker has experienced many lockouts. But one in particular was the straw that broke the camel’s back. While doing work for a phone company, one of his crewmembers got locked out of a site because the daisy chained locks had been re-secured improperly by a previous site visitor. David had to drive three hours out to the site to cut the chain and let the worker in. Then he had to drive three hours back. This day-wasting annoyance caused David to think, “There has got to be a better way!” And the idea for Stymielock was born.

David brought his idea back and shared it with his business partner and a customer. They immediately saw its value and encouraged him to get a patent. Today the Stymielock gate-access solution is used by every major power and cellular company in the US and it can be found in all 50 states and throughout Canada and Central America. That said, there is no big corporate conglomerate here. Just a guy and his lock and a business he runs in his spare time, as he has since 2002.
